Below are some works of art.  Just a little Eye Candy and hopefully inspiration if your wanting some.

Sharon's Sugar Shack

The hot dog, drink, popcorn, and tickets were edible sheets I applied to a fondant plaque, allowed to dry firm over a couple days, attached to sucker sticks, and pushed into the cake.

She has lots more examples on her website too.

She Takes The Cake™

Shown here is an example of a multi-technique cake. This 4 tier stacked cake was carved, airbrushed, piped, painted, accessorized with a real toy, AND utilized the edible photo technique for huge impact with the guests.

There are four images on this cake done with PhotoFrost™ icing sheets, shown in the enlarged view on top right is one of the images.

This cake was for a retirement from farm life and the family’s story was retold in icing. The photos started at the bottom of the cake with the old homestead, then up the road to the barn (shown in enlargement), then continuing on showcasing other property and ending with a photo of the newly built home off the farm.

The images were applied to the sides of the cake and then the scene was airbrushed and decorated around them.

This cake was designed and decorated by Jennifer Comfort of She Takes The Cake™, South Otselic, NY. ©2004 She Takes The Cake, www.artfulcakes.com

The bandana ribbon was a scanned bandana that I printed out as a ribbon and applied to the fondant cake.

She has lots more examples on her website too.

The images from the invitation were scanned and used to make the ribbon for the bottom of the cake; as well as the image plaques under the tent.

She Takes The Cake™

Pictured is a square fondant cake utilizing the edible photo technique. A scratch-off ticket was scanned and then edited in a graphics program to modify the game area so that it suited the recipient; a lottery ticket lover. The text areas of the game piece were personalized with the age, grandkids’ names, and interests – every entry worth the grand prize of course. The modified image was then printed on a PhotoFrost™ frosting sheet and applied to fondant then set aside to dry. Silver luster dust was mixed with water into a paste and applied to mimic the scratched surface.
