Magenta Edible Ink Refill Bottle If being shipped outside of US syringe will not be included
You can save money by refilling your own edible ink cartridges. This 60ml (2oz) bottle of edible color can refill your cartridges approximately 4 times for about the same cost as one cartridge.
Our edible ink refill bottles allow you to easily refill the inks in each cartridge without having to buy new cartridges each time (for four refill cycles). All edible inks are FDA approved and Kosher.
Instructions for use
(PF24 Edible Ink Cartridges)
Step 1: Be sure the edible ink cartridge is clean & prepared for filling. Examine the wicks at the outlet holes (on multi-color cartridges) to be sure each color is pure & clear (red, yellow & blue). If any color appears "off" the edible ink cartridge may be tainted by color bleedig from one cell to another. This can cause inaccurate color printing and the edible ink cartridge should be replaced. With the edible ink cartridge upright, insert needle 1/8" through the wick. Draw out residual color to be sure the edible ink cartridge is empty. Clean syringe between colors. Rinse edible ink cartridge under warm water. Dry with paper towel.
Step 2: Shake bottle before using. Using the 5cc syringe provided, fill the syringe with color fluid. Insert needle into color cell through appropriate wick. Needle should be approximately 1" inside cartridge. Slowly inject color fluid into edible in cartridge while watching to be sure excess fluid does not leak out pass the wick or through the top vent hole. Clean syringe thoroughly & repeat each color.
IcingMagic recommends a maximum refill amount of 3cc each color and 6cc black. Our cartridges are rated for a greater capacity but residual fluid may lead to overfilling & leakage. Bleed-over through the vent holes of the tri-color edible ink cartridge can cause tainting of neighboring color cells. Leakage can also cause other problems with the print head & other internal printer components. For other model cartridges fill 2cc less than manufacturer's recommended capacity.
(PF30, PF30-5, PF60, PF99 & CLI Edible Ink Cartridges)
Replace orange cartridge cap with silicone seal & lock in place. Remove label to find rubber plug underneath. Remove plug with pin or needle & save. Inject reservoir 1/16" below opening neck. DO NOT OVERFILL. You may inject 1 or 2cc color into vent hole to 'prime' the edible ink cartridge. Replace rubber plug & seal with a small piece of tape before using.
NOTE FOR ALL CAKE PRINTERS: Be sure your print head is properly cleaned using PF Cleaner Cartridges & all components (cartridges, head, etc...) are clean & dry before reassembling.
